Masut da Rive Pinot Nero

Masut da Rive has been farmed by the Gallo family since 1900 in the Isonzo valley of Friuli. In the mid-1980s, patriarch Silvano Gallo took the then-unconventional step of planting Pinot Nero, a variety widely considered unsuited to Friuli at the time, making the estate a pioneer of Pinot Nero in the region. The vineyards are farmed with a sustainability focus, powered in part by a solar array, with a sub-irrigation system that minimizes water waste.
