Keltis is the Kelhar family's estate in Bizeljsko, Slovenia (Posavje region, often described as Lower Styria), with winemaking roots reaching back to 1776; Marijan Kelhar created the Keltis label in 1989. The family farms roughly 5 hectares biodynamically (certified organic since 2009, Demeter since 2022) alongside 12 hectares of forest that supplies barrel wood for the cellar. ‘Mario Rozé’ is a méthode ancestrale sparkling rosé made from directly-pressed Pinot Noir (80%) and Chardonnay (20%), given only a pale pink hue, fermented spontaneously without added yeast, matured on lees in large oak, and bottled unfiltered with minimal SO2 (15mg/L).
