About the Wine
The Upper Galilee mountain range is the heart and soul of our winery. Situated at elevation, the innovatively designed winery is committed to revitalizing the region’s rich history of winemaking. The Upper Galilee Mountains reach over 3,300 feet above sea level and have been known for quality grape cultivation for over 2,000 years. Today, the area’s topography, soil and climate make the area an ideal home for the vibrant Galil Mountain Winery. Established as a joint venture in 2000 between world-renowned Golan Heights Winery and Kibbutz Yiron, Galil Mountain Winery unites the best of tradition and technology. With six vineyard areas to choose from and proven expertise from our exceptional team, Galil Mountain Winery offers an inspired selection of award-winning wines that remains true to its roots. Sharing a commitment to sustainability with Golan Heights Winery, the vineyards of Galil Mountain Winery were the first to receive accredited sustainable certification under the rigorous and renowned LODI RULES program.

Tasting Notes
Made from a blend of Syrah and Barbera, Galil Ela presents delicate tannins and pristine fruit characters of wild blackberry and sour cherry. Ela is the name of the wild terebinth trees that can be found growing in and around the vineyards. Aged for one year in French oak barrels, Galil Ela drinks beautifully upon release, but will cellar gracefully for those who prefer to wait. Pair with herb-crusted lamb chops, barbecued meats or grilled mushrooms.
