About the Wine
La Val Finca Arantei 2023 is a white wine made from 100% Albariño grapes, sourced from a historic 26-hectare single vineyard planted in 1989—making it one of the oldest Albariño vineyards in D.O. Rías Baixas. Located on deep, mineral-rich alluvial soils deposited over millions of years by the Miño River, the vineyard has higher-than-average clay content for the region, offering excellent resistance to heat and water stress. Vines are trained on traditional pergolas, and the site benefits from a unique mesoclimate that promotes early, balanced ripening. The wine is aged for six months on its fine lees to enhance texture and structure, and 10% of the wine is fermented in 600-liter French oak barrels for added complexity. The wine is naturally clarified through a slow spring rest. Alcohol content is 12.5%, total acidity 6.9 g/L, pH 3.38, and volatile acidity is just 0.15 g/L.
