Martín Códax Albariño 2023
2023, Rías Baixas, Spain

About the Wine
Martín Códax Albariño 2023 is a white wine made from 100% Albariño grapes grown along Spain’s rugged Atlantic coastline in the Rías Baixas D.O. The winery was founded over 25 years ago by a collective of 50 local farmers and is named after a 13th-century Galician poet and musician. True to the region’s tradition, the Albariño vines are trained on granite pergolas (emparrados) and all grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation is carried out using cultured local yeasts, and a portion of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation to add flavor complexity, while the rest retains Albariño’s signature freshness. The wine is aged on light lees in stainless steel for six months, with no oak contact, preserving its crisp character. It contains 12% alcohol by volume.
