2022, Galillee, Israel
About the Wine
Golan Heights Winery, Israel’s leading producer of quality wines was established in 1983 by four kibbutzim and four moshavim (cooperative communities). From its founding until today, the Winery has made its mark and expanded its influence on the Israeli wine world. Its establishment changed the local wine map and shaped the perception of wine quality in the mind of the Israeli consumer. The winery produces four labels with a range of varieties and styles: Yarden, Yarden Cru Elite, Gilgal and Mount Hermon.
Tasting Notes
Yarden Katzrin Chardonnay shows off enticing lemon and pear fruit notes, along with pleasing characters of tropical fruits, flowers, spice and a hint of brioche. This full-bodied Chardonnay is full-flavored yet bright and drinkable. Though enjoyable now, Yarden Katzrin Chardonnay will develop in the bottle for several years and remain in great drinking shape for about eight years from harvest. The wine aged sur lie in new French oak barrels for nine months.
Pairing Notes
The wine pairs wonderfully with hazelnut-crusted red-snapper, grilled free-range veal chops, or a festive cheese board. Yarden Katzrin Chardonnay is produced exclusively from grapes grown in the northern Golan Heights in our best Chardonnay vineyards, which have been certified for sustainable winegrowing.
