Yarden Rom
2021, Galillee, Israel

About the Wine
Golan Heights Winery, Israel’s leading producer of quality wines was established in 1983 by four kibbutzim and four moshavim (cooperative communities). From its founding until today, the Winery has made its mark and expanded its influence on the Israeli wine world. Its establishment changed the local wine map and shaped the perception of wine quality in the mind of the Israeli consumer. The winery produces four labels with a range of varieties and styles: Yarden, Yarden Cru Elite, Gilgal and Mount Hermon.
Tasting Notes
Characters of ripe black fruits and cherries layered with notes of dark chocolate, anise and Earl Grey tea, rounded out with hints of juniper and sage all on a rich oak background. The wine features a fresh entry in the mouth, then lush body with just a bit of pleasing structure, and a long, persistent finish. Drinking condition for more than a decade from vintage.
Pairing Notes
We suggest pairing Yarden Rom with any full-flavored meat dish, such as smoky lamb short ribs or braised lamb shanks. The wine also goes wonderfully with a hot serving of a rich cassoulet on a cold night.
