El Vino del Amor y Perreo is made by Laura Sinisterra under her Vino Potable label in Chile's Itata Valley, where she and partner Garret farm ancient, ungrafted, pre-phylloxera vines - some 60 to 150 years old - across small parcels shaped by cool Pacific winds. The Muscat of Alexandria grapes are destemmed and left on their skins for fifteen days, wild-fermented at low temperature to preserve delicate aromatics and extract only soft tannins, with just 20ppm sulfur added at bottling.
Tasting Notes
An orange-hued skin-contact Muscat with notes of basil, anise, and smoke over ripe apricot, a touch of barnyard funk, and honeysuckle on the finish.
