Profile & Story

Attila Homonna started his small estate in 1999 in Tokaj, Hungary, seeking out old, low-yielding parcels of Furmint and Harslevelu around the villages of Erdobenye and Olaszliszka - many of the vines are 40-50 years old. The vineyards are farmed organically and the wines fermented with native yeasts and minimal intervention. Unlike most Tokaj producers who focus on sweet botrytized wine, Homonna is one of the region's leading voices for dry, terroir-driven Furmint-Harslevelu.

Tasting Notes

Furmint's bright acidity and mineral backbone frame Harslevelu's honeyed, floral texture; a dry, structured Tokaji with weight and finesse, volcanic minerality, and a bitter-almond note on the finish.

Pairing Recommendation

The producer recommends it as an aperitif or alongside fish and light meats.
