Champagne Forget-Chemin has been established for four generations at Ludes-le-Coquet, a premier cru village in the heart of the Montagne de Reims; Thierry Forget, an oenologist and the fourth generation, has run the house since 1991. The house draws on five crus — Ludes-le-Coquet, Mailly-Champagne, Chigny-les-Roses, Verzenay and Taissy — blending Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, with alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel. NOTE: the producer's published range has no 'Marie Forget' rose — Marie Forget exists only as a Brut and an Extra-Brut, and the house rose is bottled as 'Carte Rose Premier Cru'. The text here describes Carte Rose Premier Cru; please confirm which cuvee is poured.

Pairing Recommendation

Serve at 10°C with lightly seared red meat, or a lightly sweetened red-fruit dessert. Best in a wide glass, to appreciate its roundness.
