The Boisson family have been vignerons in Meursault for more than two centuries, and the holdings long known as Domaine Boisson-Vadot are now produced collaboratively and bottled under the Pierre Boisson and Anne Boisson labels from the family cellars in the village. The style is classic, soil-driven and racy, not encumbered by excessive new oak or battonage: a high percentage of old vines, careful vineyard work, indigenous-yeast fermentation, a relatively long elevage of 19-22 months, a light fining and no filtration. Alongside their Meursaults the family are believers in under-valued terroirs — the Hautes Cotes de Beaune, the Maconnais and the Cote Chalonnaise. 'Les Cailloux' is a Rully blanc, 100% Chardonnay, the plot named for its gravelly, limestone-rich soil. (Source: Polaner Selections, US importer.)
