The 2021 Rebrook Cabernet is from the Montagna Vineyard on Pritchard Hill, perched on the edge of the Vaca Range and almost forms a corner of that part of the mountain. From here on a clear day you can see San Pablo Bay in the south, Mt. Diablo much further in the distance and Mt. St. Helena in the north. It is an intimate location as there is a rather steep drop to the valley floor 1000+feet below.
Tasting Notes
Dark magenta in the glass, this wine offers an abundance of sun- kissed fruit, classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromatics, and slippery textures. Deep, compelling aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, bay leaf and gravel swirl on the nose. In the mouth, a surge of luscious boysenberry and crème de cassis gains momentum with supporting notes of vanilla, mocha, and blackberry pie. Ripe, sinuous tannins slip effortlessly into the lingering finish of dried thyme, mocha and sweet spice.
