Arnaldo Caprai has been producing wine in the Montefalco area of Umbria since 1971, from its estate in Località Torre with views toward Montefalco, Spoleto and Assisi, farming more than 150 hectares planted to Sagrantino, Sangiovese, Grechetto and other varieties. The winery states that quality drives every stage of production, working with consulting oenologist Michel Rolland and its own Vinification Intégrale method to achieve balanced extraction of aromas and tannins. Grecante, first produced in 1989, is a 100% Grechetto wine under the Colli Martani DOC, vinified in steel for three months followed by at least three further months of bottle aging before release. The producer describes it as fresh and full-bodied, with intense aromas of exotic fruit and yellow peach, floral notes of freesia and hawthorn, and a lingering, chalky mineral finish.
