Weingut Berger is a family-run estate in Gedersdorf, in the eastern Kremstal region of Austria, led by Erich Berger with his son Maximilian now taking an increasingly active role in the cellar. The estate farms roughly 25 hectares organically, planted primarily to Grüner Veltliner, on steep loess terraces that absorb heat during the day and radiate it back onto the vines at night. Fermentation is temperature-controlled with cultured yeast to preserve fruit character, and the white wines are aged in stainless steel to keep them fresh and varietally expressive. This bottling is Berger's Kremstal Grüner Veltliner, drawn from these loess-terrace vineyards that are the backbone of the estate's production.
