Bonanza is produced under the Wagner Family of Wine, the Napa Valley family whose winemaking roots trace back to 1915, when Carl Wagner first established a winery in Rutherford; the family formalized its estate winemaking business as Caymus Vineyards in 1972 under Charlie and Lorna Wagner, and today the Wagner family, including Chuck Wagner and his children Charlie and Jenny, continues to farm the land by hand across multiple family wine brands. The family describes its guiding philosophy through Chuck Wagner's words: "Working the land with our own hands has given us insights into grape growing and winemaking that cannot be found in any farm manual or book."
