Domaines Paul Mas traces its roots to 1892, when Jean-Claude Mas's great-grandfather Auguste Mas purchased the family's first vineyard near St Pons de Mauchiens in the Languedoc; over four generations the estate expanded, and in 2000 Jean-Claude Mas formally established Domaines Paul Mas, centered on Château Paul Mas in Pézenas. Jean-Claude Mas describes his guiding philosophy as being about "quality, which is, by its very nature, luxurious," rather than luxury for its own sake, and the Côté Mas range reflects this approach, described by the estate as "an invitation to the heart of the Languedoc region," blending traditional winemaking with a contemporary style to showcase the diversity of the region's terroirs. Côté Mas Blanc is a white blend of Vermentino and Sauvignon Blanc from the Languedoc, crafted in this same spirit of highlighting the best Mediterranean grape varieties of the region.
