Squealing Pig began in 2010 at the Squealing Pig Vineyard in New Zealand's Marlborough region, founded with the aim of making wine with personality rather than pretension. The brand's name comes from pigs that once roamed a historic homestead overlooking the original vineyard, squealing with delight at mealtimes in a sound that carried down to the vines below. Squealing Pig describes its wines as "approachable, flavour-packed" and made to pair with easygoing food, summed up in its motto "relax everyone... it's just wine." While the brand has since expanded to source wine from other regions and countries, this bottling is the original Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc grown at the Squealing Pig Vineyard.
