Verónica Ortega grew up in Cádiz, trained at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Domaine du Comte Armand in Burgundy, and worked harvests with Álvaro Palacios in Priorat and as winemaker at Domaine Laurent Combier in Crozes-Hermitage before settling in Valtuille, in Spain's Bierzo, in 2012. Quite is her entry-level Mencía, sourced from organically farmed vines over 80 years old on clay-sandy, mineral-rich soils, hand-harvested and fully destemmed with a short 5-7 day maceration and roughly seven months in French oak foudres.
