Channing Daughters is a family-owned winery on Long Island's South Fork, founded by Walter Channing in 1982 on a farm in Bridgehampton, New York, and today led by winemaker Christopher Tracy alongside owners Larry Perrine and Allison Dubin, known for an unusually wide range of small-lot, experimental bottlings. This petillant naturel is a blend of 92% Merlot and 8% Lagrein from the winery's Long Island AVA vineyards, bottled in the traditional pet-nat method without dosage; only 128 cases were produced at 11% alcohol.
Tasting Notes
The wine pours a gorgeous electric copper-pink salmon color with fine, creamy bubbles. Aromas and flavors of ripe black cherry, plum, and watermelon are lifted by the winery's signature salty minerality, with just a touch of residual sweetness giving it a round, easy-drinking texture and balance, finishing long and fresh.
