Profile & Story
Château Soussans is the middle wine of Vignobles Jean Sorge, the family estate built around Château Deyrem-Valentin in the Margaux commune of Soussans, with roots dating to 1730; the property is today overseen by the Sorge family, continuing generations of hand-harvesting by parcel, fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete vats, and barrel aging with up to 30% new French oak. Described by the estate as Deyrem-Valentin's 'elegant and subtle younger brother' with soft tannin, Soussans is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot aged 12 to 15 months in French oak.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red with good concentration, the 2020 shows a fresh, fruity nose of soft, silky perfumed strawberry jam and red fruits; the palate is delicious and juicy, nicely balanced with ripe plum and cream, refined and supple tannins, a racy structure, and an attractive, persistent finish. 14.5% ABV.

Recommended with red meats, grilled meats, lamb and game.
