Profile & Story

Celler 9+ was founded by Moisès Virgili Rovira in 2010 in Nou de Gaià, Tarragona — the name plays on "Nou," Catalan for both "new" and "nine." The certified-organic estate (CCPAE) farms 19 hectares across 14 plots and adds no sulphites, clarifiers, stabilizers or preservatives to its wines. Blanc 1r is a Cartoixà (Xarel-lo) and Macabeo blend from sandy-soil organic vineyards: destemmed and pressed, fermented naturally for 18–20 days at low temperature in stainless steel, then aged about nine months in tank with weekly lees-stirring, unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Notes

Nuances of quince and honey alongside yellow peach, apricot and tropical notes of pineapple, lychee and papaya; a broad, well-structured palate with zesty citrus freshness and a long finish of ripe fruit.
