Domaine La Croix St. Laurent is run by Joël and Sylvie Cirotte from their estate near Bué, one of Sancerre's classic villages in the eastern Loire, on 10.8 hectares certified Terra Vitis for sustainable farming; the next generation, Fabien and Marie, is now training alongside them. This rosé is 100% Pinot Noir from about 30-year-old vines on flint-and-limestone soils (2.5 ha), hand-harvested and direct-pressed, fermented 10 days with temperature control in stainless steel, then aged four months on lees before bottling.
Tasting Notes
Delicate bouquet of gooseberry, under-ripe watermelon and strawberry, accented by citrus zest and subtle floral notes; a light, crisp, bone-dry palate with red currant, peach, bright acidity and a chalky mineral finish.
