Profile & Story

Weinlaubenhof Kracher, based in Illmitz, Burgenland (est. 1959), is world-renowned chiefly for its sweet Beerenauslese/Trockenbeerenauslese wines, but also produces a genuine range of dry, "trocken" varietal whites including Gruner Veltliner. The dry Gruner Veltliner comes from vineyards between Illmitz and Podersdorf, aged on fine lees in stainless steel for several months. ABV approximately 12%.

Tasting Notes

Deep, intense and spicy bouquet with ripe seed-fruit aromas and flinty, mineral notes; medium- to full-bodied, savory palate with a saline, grippy finish.
