Domaine Louis Moreau has been rooted in Chablis since 1814; sixth-generation Louis Moreau studied oenology-viticulture before returning to run the family estate, whose 100% Chardonnay vineyards span all four levels of the Chablis appellation, from Petit Chablis to Grand Cru. This straight Chablis bottling is fermented and aged mainly in stainless steel to preserve the Kimmeridgian-soil minerality and freshness that define the appellation.
Tasting Notes
Producer's own tasting note: fruity and vivid with a nice golden color; a floral nose of white fruits (apple, pear) typical of Chablis terroir, a nice attack with mineral and chalky hints, and a well-balanced, fine, fresh finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Producer suggests pairing with smoked salmon and blinis, or steamed cod.
