Out-Take is a California negociant brand: rather than buying finished bulk wine, Out-Take buys directly from established Napa/Sonoma/Mendocino wineries and rebottles the same wine sold under the source winery's own tasting-room label at a fraction of the price; source vineyards/wineries are kept confidential under NDA. Per the brand's distributor, the Out-Take Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon comes from two estate-grown vineyards in Oakville, Napa Valley, fermented in stainless steel and aged 12 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new.
Tasting Notes
Distributor tasting note: dark purple, glass-coating color; a vibrant, persistent nose of ripe black currants, black cherries, wild blueberries, and ground nutmeg; the palate is dense and powerful with a voluptuous core of creme de cassis, framed by supple, velvety tannins.
