Profile & Story

Chanson Pere et Fils, founded in 1750, is one of Burgundy's historic negociant-domaines, based at the Bastion de Beaune (a 15th-century fortified cellar built into Beaune's ramparts) and today one of the five grand Burgundy 'shippers.' This Bourgogne Pinot Noir is sourced from parcels in the Cote Chalonnaise, Hautes-Cotes de Beaune and Hautes-Cotes de Nuits, on limestone-and-clay soils. It is fermented in stainless steel with pigeage and remontage tailored to the vintage, then aged on fine lees in stainless steel and in French oak barrels (228L, 1-6 years old). ABV is 12.5%.

Pairing Recommendation

A great, classic Bourgogne, ideal with braised or roasted meats, or a saucisson brioche (Lyonnaise-style pork sausage baked in brioche).
