d'Arry's Original is d'Arenberg's flagship Rhone-style blend, first released in 1993 and renamed in honor of third-generation winemaker Francis 'd'Arry' Osborn for his lifelong contribution to McLaren Vale winemaking. It is a 50/50 blend of Grenache and Shiraz, crafted with traditional open fermentation and basket pressing, then matured in a combination of new and seasoned French oak before bottling unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of wild red berries, dark cherry and exotic spice lead into a medium-bodied palate layered with wild strawberry, dried cranberry and rhubarb; subtle dried herbs and baking spice add complexity, while fine, velvety tannins and bright natural acidity carry the wine to a long, savory finish.
