Profile & Story
El Enemigo is the project of winemaker Alejandro Vigil and Adrianna Catena, who grew up drinking Old-World Bordeaux with her father and still remembers the day he opened a bottle of Cheval Blanc for her; Vigil, for his part, served Angelica Zapata Cabernet Franc at his own wedding. Both share a natural affinity for the peppery aromas, grainy tannins, and freshness that define the Cabernet Franc grape. Their Cabernet Franc is typically a blend of Cabernet Franc with a smaller portion of Malbec, sourced from the Gualtallary district of Tupungato in Mendoza's Uco Valley, where calcareous, rocky soils and high elevation shape the wine's structure; the estate farms under certified sustainable practices and ages the wine in French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
El Enemigo Cabernet Franc is ruby red in color with soft violet tones, offering concentrated aromas of juicy plums, raspberries, ripe currants, cassis, black pepper, clove, and tobacco leaf. On the palate it is elegant and balanced, with flavors of cedar and vanilla, medium body, excellent structure, supple tannins, a fresh palate, and a persistent finish.

Pairs well with smoky barbecue, rich lentil stew, herb-roasted pork, or eggplant parmesan.
