Quinta de La Rosa is a family-run estate in Portugal's Douro Valley, situated on the north bank of the Douro River about two kilometers from the village of Pinhão, within the Cima Corgo sub-region. The estate farms roughly 62 hectares of vineyard on steep, schist-soil terraces with varied topography and strong morning sun exposure, and also owns Quinta do Passagem, a 100-hectare property in the Douro Superior developed since 2005 as a joint venture with winemaker Jorge Moreira. Under Moreira's guidance, the winery favors letting the terroir speak for itself, avoiding heavy extraction, tannin, or oak in favor of balance, freshness, and natural acidity - a style the estate considers its own signature elegance. Quinta de La Rosa produces a full range of Douro wines, from red, white, and rosé table wines to Port, alongside a growing white wine program (including recent plantings of Alvarinho, Arinto, and Gouveio) and the joint-venture Passagem line. This bottling is a custom, private-label wine created for Hawksmoor restaurants; the producer publishes no dedicated tasting notes for this specific blend, but it is made in the traditional Douro field-blend style, combining the region's indigenous red grape varieties into a red table wine reflecting the estate's house approach to balance and freshness.
