Profile & Story

Weingut Bruendlmayer is one of Austria's benchmark estates, farming 90 hectares of Gruner Veltliner, Riesling, St. Laurent, Zweigelt and Burgundian varieties around Langenlois in the Kamptal, including the very cellar and vineyards once belonging to the Zweigelt family for whom the grape is named. The rose is made mostly from Zweigelt picked at moderate ripeness and pressed gently as for a white wine, with a smaller portion of free-run juice taken before pressing begins for extra intensity; after fermentation in steel tank, the wine undergoes partial or complete malolactic fermentation depending on the vintage.
