Fattoria San Giuliano is a family estate in Neive, in Piedmont's Roero and Langhe hills, run by Giulio and Mariella Pastura, who do nearly all of the vineyard work and winemaking themselves. Roero, on the left bank of the Tanaro across from Barolo and Barbaresco, is Arneis's home appellation and became a DOCG in 2004. The cellar uses temperature-controlled fermentation and gentle pressing, and bottles each of its wines varietally to preserve the character coming from the vineyard; production across the estate's range runs to roughly 60,000 bottles a year.
