Profile & Story
Founded in 1824 by George Smith as the first legally licensed distillery in Speyside, The Glenlivet went on to become the benchmark against which other Speyside malts have long been measured. The 12 Year Old, matured in both European and American oak casks, embodies the distillery's signature fruity house style and is made using mineral-rich water drawn from Josie's Well.
Tasting Notes
The nose offers an elegant combination of banana and pineapple, with vibrant aromas reminiscent of summer meadows. On the palate, sweet notes of peaches and pears are complemented by vanilla and toffee, leading to a smooth, gentle, and long finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water to open up its fruity, honeyed character, in keeping with the light, approachable style of Speyside single malts.
