Profile & Story

Founded by Bert "Tito" Beveridge, Tito's Handmade Vodka has been distilled and bottled in Austin, Texas since the mid-1990s, when it began life as a homemade infusion that became the hit of the party; the story goes that someone asking for "the vodka guy" set the idea for the brand in motion, and it grew into Texas' first legally operating distillery. The vodka is crafted in old-fashioned pot stills, a method the brand says is inspired by the distillation of fine single malt scotches and high-end French cognacs, and it is bottled simply, with a plain paper label, so that, in the brand's own words, "all you pay for is the high-quality vodka inside."

Tasting Notes

Tito's describes each sip as going down smooth with an impeccably clean finish, a character it credits to its old-fashioned pot-still distillation. In line with that style, it shows a light, subtly sweet character on the nose with a soft, neutral, easy-drinking palate typical of well-made pot-distilled vodka.
