Profile & Story

Bojo do Luar is a collaborative natural-wine project in Portugal's Vinho Verde region, grown by viticulturist Antonio Sousa in Felgueiras and made with US importer Savio Soares. Lou 38 is 100% Loureiro from vines over 20 years old, fermented spontaneously for three weeks in century-old clay amphorae with foot-stomping, then bottled unfiltered with ground chestnut flowers used as a natural stabilizer instead of added sulfites. ABV approx. 12%.

Tasting Notes

Hazy golden-amber color with persistent fine bubbles from bottle fermentation. Fresh citrus, white flowers and herbal undertones from the skin contact, with tart grapefruit and lemonade flavors, crisp acidity, light body and a refreshing, slightly off-dry finish.

Pairing Recommendation

Aged cheeses, cured meats, spiced vegetable dishes, fried seafood, fresh oysters, ceviche, Vietnamese spring rolls, or bacalhau a bras.
