Profile & Story
Founded in 1638, Kopke is the oldest Port house still in existence. Fine White Port is a Malvasia Fina-based blend of traditional Douro white grapes, grown on schist-sandstone soils at roughly 600m elevation and aged a minimum of 3 years before bottling. ABV approx. 19.5%.
Tasting Notes
Vivid orangey-brown color; aromas of ripe, honeyed fruit with fragrant vanilla notes. Smooth and round on the palate, initially sweet with dried apricot and wild honey, finishing relatively dry with a citrus-peel lift.
Pairing Recommendation
Desserts built on caramel, coffee, apricot or dried fruit -- caramelized walnuts, tiramisu, hazelnut meringue pie -- or a mild cheese like Brie. Serve 12-14C.
