Profile & Story
Kumusha is the project of Tinashe Nyamudoka, Zimbabwe-born former head sommelier at Cape Town's Test Kitchen, made with winemaker Attie Louw of Opstal Estate; 'Kumusha' means roots, origin, home. This Chenin Blanc blends two Breedekloof vineyards -- one dry-farmed at 380m and another with 38-year-old vines on ancient sandstone -- with about 20% aged in large oak foudres and the rest in stainless steel and concrete, then matured 7 months on gross lees.
Tasting Notes
Typical of old-vine Breedekloof Chenin Blanc: ripe orchard and stone fruit with a touch of waxy texture from lees aging, and bright natural acidity on the finish. (Grape/region-typical note -- no official tasting note was published for this cuvee.)
