Grgich Hills Estate was founded in 1977 by Miljenko "Mike" Grgich -- whose 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay triumphed over top French wines at the 1976 Paris Tasting -- and partner Austin Hills. The estate farms five certified organic, regenerative vineyards in Napa Valley, sourcing this Cabernet Sauvignon primarily from its Yountville vineyard with Rutherford and Calistoga fruit rounding out the blend.
Tasting Notes
An elegant, graceful wine with aromas of blackberry, blueberry, sweet black currant and ripe black cherry, hints of vanilla and sandalwood, fresh red and black berry flavors, bright acidity and soft, smooth tannins leading to a long, vibrant finish.
