Bergström Wines farms the Shea Vineyard in Oregon's Yamhill-Carlton District, planted in 1989 — one of the great Pinot Noir sites of the New World, with inch-thin sandy soils across endless microclimates; Bergström has historically drawn fruit from six clonal blocks across 16 of the vineyard's 140 acres, aging the wine on natural lees in French oak (10-15% new).
Tasting Notes
Gorgeous light cranberry color with effusive aromas of gingerbread, Chinese five spice, curry and garam masala alongside cedar and sandalwood-like incense; intensely perfumed with great energy, fruit sweetness, juicy acidity and fine, elegant, ripe tannins.
