Profile & Story
Dom Pérignon is the prestige, vintage-only cuvée of Moët & Chandon, produced only in exceptional years and released as a single expression of that year's harvest. The 2017 blend is 62% Chardonnay, largely from Chouilly, with Pinot Noir drawn mainly from Bouzy; production was tiny, about a three-month supply.
Tasting Notes
Creamy, voluptuous and textured, with a striking duality between bitterness and acidity, softness and tension; complex notes of candied zest with vegetal and fruity nuances give way to a mineral, sparkling finish of fruit, citrus and toast. Reductive in style, marked by gunflint, recalling the 2003 vintage.
