Profile & Story
Niepoort has been a family company in the Douro since 1842, six generations into producing wine, and its Vila Nova de Gaia lodges hold more than 150 years of Port-making knowledge. The house follows a biodynamic path, working with the biodiversity of the region and the plurality of its soils and climates.
Tasting Notes
A twenty-year-old tawny Port from the Douro typically shows an amber-tawny colour with aromas of dried fig, walnut, caramel and orange peel, a sweet, nutty, medium- to full-bodied palate and a long, gently oxidative finish.
