Profile & Story
Channing Daughters Winery farms Home Farm Vineyard in Bridgehampton on Long Island's South Fork, within the Hamptons AVA, and was the first winery to grow and bottle Lagrein - a grape native to Alto Adige - on the East End. This rosato is part of the winery's Molti Rosati program, a set of varietal- and vineyard-specific rosés made by winemaker James Christopher Tracy. The fruit is hand-harvested and whole-cluster pressed, with only three to four hours of skin contact before fermentation in stainless steel, yielding a small production of around 168 cases.
Tasting Notes
A stunning, almost light-red ruby color. The nose and palate show red cherry, pink peppercorn, black plum, lilac, boysenberry, and currant, with a thread of salty minerality. Dry and medium-bodied, with crunchy, zippy, juicy acidity, balanced moderate alcohol, and an extended finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs beautifully with grilled vegetables, salmon, arctic char, steak, pizza, pasta, barbecued chicken, pulled pork, or grilled tuna.
