Profile & Story

Montenidoli is the historic San Gimignano estate brought back to life in the 1960s by Elisabetta Fagiuoli on land that dates to Roman times, on the western edge of the Chianti zone in Tuscany. The vineyards sit around 250 meters above sea level on ancient marine sediment soils and are farmed strictly organically. This rosato is made from 100% Canaiolo grown in the San Gimignano production zone. The free-run must ferments slowly in steel vats, and the wine is bottled on its own lees at the end of fermentation to preserve freshness, reaching 12.5% alcohol. Around 15,000 bottles are produced each vintage.

Tasting Notes

Delicately pale pink in the glass. The bouquet opens with raspberry and violet, moving toward orange blossom and citrus. On the palate it is full and very dry, with crisp, well-modulated acidity and a long, salty, mineral finish.
