Profile & Story

Michele Chiarlo, based in Calamandrana in the Asti area of Piedmont, sources this Barbera from multiple vineyards including La Court, La Serra, Montemareto, and Costa delle Monache. The wine ferments in steel with 10 days of skin maceration using a soft cap-wetting system between 27 and 32 degrees C, completes malolactic fermentation in steel, and is aged a minimum of one year before release.

Tasting Notes

Ruby red with violet hues; aromas of fresh, ripe red fruit such as cherry and currant lead to a harmonious palate with good structure, roundness, and a savory finish.

Pairing Recommendation

Pasta with tomato, pizza, Livorno-style fish, and white meat.
