Villa Matilde Avallone, based in Cellole, sources this Greco di Tufo from vineyards in Altavilla Irpina, Tufo, and Santa Paolina (in the province of Avellino) at 400 to 500 meters elevation on tufaceous soil with marly clay and sulfur. Grapes are hand-picked in the second week of October, fermented in white with soft pressing and cold decantation, and aged about four months in stainless steel.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw-yellow color with an intense, persistent nose of white peach, apricot, and sweet almond mixed with mineral and citrus notes; the palate is vigorous, fresh, and rich.
