Jack's Wife Freda is an all-day café and restaurant group founded in 2011 on Lafayette Street in Soho by Dean and Maya Jankelowitz, whose South African and Israeli family roots shape the menu's Mediterranean, Jewish, and New York influences. Rather than draw on a single named estate, the restaurant pours its own house wine program, labeled 'Cuvée JWF,' a private-label collection of easy-drinking French wines chosen to complement its all-day menu; the line spans white, rosé, red, and sparkling styles by the glass and bottle. Côtes-du-Rhône is the broad regional appellation of the southern Rhône Valley, traditionally built around Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. This Côtes-du-Rhône is a still, dry red wine, made in the approachable, fruit-forward style typical of everyday Côtes-du-Rhône.
