Garalis Winery is a family estate in Agios Demetrios on the island of Lemnos, Greece, farming Limnio -- an ancient red variety linked to the red wine of antiquity described by Aristotle -- organically, without irrigation or fertilization. Annual production of this bottling is just 1,300 bottles.
Tasting Notes
A generous, exuberant nose of black berries and plums with notes of dried figs, caramel, toffee and roasted coffee; accented acidity, firm tannins, and moderate body and alcohol.
Pairing Recommendation
English roast beef in cognac-mushroom sauce, pork with plums, mushroom or truffle risotto, and mature yellow cheeses with fig or plum chutney.
