Profile & Story
Domaine Bonnet-Huteau has farmed organically since 2005 and is now certified biodynamic (Biodyvin); Jean-Jacques Bonnet and Vincent Pineau run the family property, over 150 years in the Sevre-et-Maine appellation. Bonnet Orange is a skin-fermented Pinot Gris, made with natural yeasts in 700-litre terracotta ovoid tanks; the estate's plots span gneiss, micaschist, amphibolite and granite, each worked separately to let its rock express its own minerality.
Tasting Notes
Skin-contact Pinot Gris from the Loire typically shows an amber-orange colour with aromas of apricot, orange blossom and beeswax, a textured, medium-bodied palate with light tannic grip, and a savoury, lingering finish.
