Cantine San Marzano was founded in 1962 by 19 winemakers in the village of San Marzano di San Giuseppe, in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria zone in Puglia, between the Ionian and Adriatic coasts of the Salento peninsula. "Il Pumo" takes its name from the decorative clay ornament that has adorned Puglian balconies and stairways for centuries, a symbol of nature's abundance. This Primitivo Salento IGP is 100% Primitivo from the Salento, aged in stainless steel tanks.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red with violet reflections; an intense, fruity bouquet of plum and cherry with hints of Mediterranean herbs and a touch of spice. Full-bodied, soft, and balanced on the palate, easy to drink.
