Profile & Story

Renzo Masi is the Masi family's wine house in Rufina, Tuscany, run alongside their Fattoria di Basciano estate; the family has made wine for three generations, working with long-term partner growers around Rufina to offer excellent quality for the price. This Chianti, the Cornioleta bottling, is 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino from the best areas of Chianti, primarily the Rufina area; after about ten days of skin contact it ferments at 23-25C, with malolactic fermentation completed in stainless steel, for a wine made to drink young that can also hold a few years in the cellar.

Tasting Notes

Intense ruby red, with Sangiovese's scents of small red berries and flowers; structured and concentrated, with lively acidity.

Pairing Recommendation

Pairs with grilled meats, Tuscan ribollita and young Pecorino cheese.
