Les Vignes du Fresche was founded in 2022 by geologist Marc Houtin and former Bordeaux importer and cellarmaster Daniel Craker, who farm 27 hectares on a plateau in Anjou's Coteaux de la Loire, on sandy clay soils over black schist bedrock; the vineyard has been farmed organically since 2000. The estate favors minimal-intervention winemaking, fermenting with native yeasts and minimal sulfur, and bottling in extra-light glass. Radicalement Gris is made from Grolleau Gris: about a third of the fruit macerates on the skins for two days, while the remaining two-thirds are direct-pressed, and the blend is aged seven months in stainless steel.
